Market specific taxes

The following are the article processing charges (APCs) charged by IDS  Open Access journals for accepted manuscripts. Taxes may apply on qualifying transactions.

Extensive English editing

Only minor English editing is included in the APC; articles requiring extensive English editing will result in your article being returned during the publication process thereby delaying the publication of that work. If you cannot guarantee that your article is in correct English, you can contact our English-speaking colleagues for a review or paid language editing service before submitting your article. Our experience and streamlined process ensures that our team can provide you with fast English editing, which can be completed in less than a day. See Author Services for more information.

Funding of APCs and BPCs

Many funding agencies and organizations explicitly allow the use of research grants to pay for APC and BPC for open access articles and books. For more information on APC and BPC funding, please see below.

Discounts on APCs

Authors from IOAP participating universities are eligible for APC discount vouchers for articles published in an IDSCI journal, but the discount is only available once and needs to be used in conjunction with discounts from IOAP and affiliated societies. We ensure that editorial decisions are not influenced by the ability to pay processing fees, but authors should consider the likelihood of paying the APC/BPC in full and their own ability to pay. Publishers may use the waiver at their own discretion but should discuss this with the editorial office.

General Peer-Review and Editorial Procedure

After an author submits an article on the IDSCI submission system, the submission system will assign an assistant editor to the author, who will complete the basic work such as author identity audit, email audit, etc., and then the editor will be responsible for the preliminary review on the content. After the preliminary review is completed, the editor will send review invitations to the corresponding reviewers according to the specific conditions of the article. After single-blind or double-blind peer review, the reviewers will make decisions and suggestions for revisions (if any), and the article will be submitted to the editor-in-chief for a final acceptance decision after final revisions are made, and the article will be proofread, edited in English, and finally published after the acceptance decision is received.

Editorial Decision and Revision

In IDSCI's review process, the publication of all articles is subject to a peer-review process and receipt of at least 2 review reports. After discussion between internal and external editors, we may communicate the following decisions to authors:

Accepted: the paper is accepted without any revision

Accepted with minor revisions: the paper is accepted in principle with minor revisions, which should be completed within 5 days.

Reconsideration with major revisions: the acceptance of the paper depends on the outcome of the revisions. Each manuscript is allowed a maximum of two rounds of major revisions, and authors are required to resubmit the paper within ten days, then back to the review process for a further comments. If revisions are expected to take more than two months, authors are advised to withdraw their manuscripts in order to ensure that all manuscripts are adequately revised.

Reject and encouragement to resubmit: If the article needs more experimental data to support the authors will face rejection. We encourage the authors to resubmit the article after conducting more experiments.

Reject: Articles with serious flaws will be rejected and not accepted for resubmission.
